Staff Council Picnic This Thursday
An appreciation picnic for staff members will be held Thursday, May 16 from 11:30 – 1:30 p.m. at the
RAC Pavilion. Hosted by Staff Council, the event has become a springtime
tradition and a way for Georgia Southern to say a big ‘thank you’ to all staff
who work so diligently throughout the year, according to Staff Council Officer David
Thompson, proposal
writer for the Office of University Advancement.
"No matter the job, the staff is to be recognized for what they do to keep
Georgia Southern functioning day to day. Staff Council is pleased and excited
to provide the opportunity for everyone to get together, share a meal, and just
have some fun.
Everyone should know,
too, that we are only able to do this with the generosity of Dr. Keel. The
Office of the President has been very gracious in helping us fund the cookout,"
said Thompson.
Lots of fun activities will take place at the event, including a D.J., True
Blue photo booth, raffle prizes and games. Purchase a $1 raffle ticket for your
chance to win one of the following items and more:

- Eagle Athletics prize pack
- One year FREE parking permit
- Gift Basket from the Vice President’s Office of Business and Finance

Proceeds benefit the Staff Council Scholarship. Donations will also be accepted. In addition, staff members are encouraged to bring a canned good to donate to the Statesboro Food Bank.
