COSM Earns Second Place in National GK-12 STEM Competition
The College of Science and Mathematics has earned second place in the GK-12 STEM Competition, a national competition sponsored by the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) and the National Science Foundation, for their Molecular Biology Initiative (MBI) Program Film entry. In the film, the MBI Program was described as a successful model to follow when establishing new GK-12 STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) programs. AAAS will use elements of the MBI film to generate a final product for national distribution, along with its new GK-12 STEM Best Practices publication. Elements of the top three films will be combined to generate a final product to represent the GK-12 STEM model and accompany the best practices AAAS manual that will soon be in press.
