Biological Sciences Building Ribbon Cutting Tuesday
A ribbon cutting ceremony for the Biological Sciences Building will be held Tuesday, Aug. 27 at 10 a.m., hosted by President Brooks Keel. A reception and guided tours will follow the ceremony. The University community is welcomed and encouraged to attend.
With 155,394 gross square ft., the new facility showcases scientific research and learning as it happens and provides students with exceptional research opportunities at all levels. This $37 million state-funded building houses five classrooms that encourage active-learning, 10 teaching labs, 15 research labs to facilitate undergraduate and graduate student research, specialized research facilities and faculty offices. The new academic building will be submitted for a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) “Gold” rating.
Parking is limited; attendees are encouraged to take the shuttle or walk to the ceremony. The Stadium Express shuttle service from the stadium to the College of Education circle will be available. Also, within walking distance to the Biological Sciences Building, parking will be available at the Recreation Activity Center.
