Professor Emeritus
James Oliver of the College of Science and Mathematics and Natasha Rudenko, a
senior research scientist from the Czech Republic who collaborates with Oliver
and works at Georgia Southern several months a year, have been featured in the
December 2013 online issue of Discover
In-Depth. The E-Single entitled:
“Ticked: The Battle Over Lyme Disease in the South,”
is a 60-page investigative narrative about the hunt for tick-borne pathogens in
the Southern United States.
You can read the full story here. Oliver enters the debate starting on
page 17 and Rudenko first appears on page 31.
Oliver is the former director of the Institute for Arthropodology and Parasitology (now the James H. Oliver, Jr., Institute for Coastal Plain Science).
