Watch President Keel Testify on Higher Education LIVE in Washington D.C.
President Brooks A. Keel, Ph.D., has been invited by Congressman John Kline (R-Minn), chairman of the U.S. House Committee on Education and the Workforce to speak before the committee at a hearing on Wednesday, April 2 at 10 a.m. During the hearing titled, “Keeping College Within Reach: Meeting the Needs of Contemporary Students,” Keel will talk about the importance of preparing the 21st century workforce and the need for a “Workforce-Grant University.” “Georgia Southern University has a great story to share. By providing a competitive education, applied research opportunities and industry partnerships, we continue to prepare students and graduates with work-ready skills in ways that benefit the state of Georgia and our nation,” said Keel. Over the past year, the committee has held the “Keeping College Within Reach” series of hearings as Congress reauthorizes the Higher Education Act. Wednesday’s hearing will provide members an opportunity to examine policy and programs to support continued innovation in postsecondary education.
