Freshmen Dish on What’s Exciting About Eagle Nation
During Operation Move-In, 1,400 faculty, staff, student and community volunteers helped 3,500 new students transition to their new “home away from home” in Eagle Nation. At my.georgiasouthern.edu, we caught up with a few students during check-in, on the elevator and while they were unloading to get the scoop on what they are most excited about as the newest members of the Georgia Southern University family and what made them choose to become True Blue!

Why did you choose Georgia Southern?
Lauren 1: It’s close to home and has a beautiful campus. My sister goes here too. Jordan: I like the atmosphere and I like the campus. It’s really nice. I also want to be a business major and Georgia Southern has a strong business school. Randall: I liked that when I visited here, I wasn’t just a number. People talked to me, and it was like I actually mattered. Jacob: My dad went here. It’s close enough to home, but far enough away. Lauren 2: I heard a lot of good things about it, like how friendly the people were and how much fun it was to be here. Plus, I have a friend who goes here, and she loves it.What are you most excited about as a new member of Eagle Nation?
Lauren 1: I like the gym, and I like that I can walk everywhere and not have to drive. Jordan: Football Season. Randall: Living on campus. I like how you’re right in the middle of everything and I’m pretty excited about that. I also hear that everybody’s pretty big into tailgating, so that’s definitely fun. Jacob: Rushing. I don’t know which fraternity yet, but probably KA. Lauren 2: Football. Visit Georgia Southern’s official Facebook page to see complete photos from Operation Move-In.
