Multicultural Student Center Seeks Student Leaders for New Program

The Multicultural Student Center has launched Diversity Peer Educators, a new program to promote greater cultural understanding, awareness and respect for all students, and is seeking student volunteers to lead the effort. If you’re interested in making a difference on campus, starting a dialogue among your peers about respecting the differences of others and educating others on breaking stereotypes, consider becoming a Diversity Peer Educator (DPE). DPEs will, through educational programs and campus outreach, strive to enhance student’s comprehensive knowledge of diversity, inclusion and social justice issues to maintain a positive, supportive and inclusive environment. DPEs must meet the following requirements:
  • Must have a 2.5 GPA
  • Clearly demonstrate an interest,passion and commitment for diversity awareness and inclusion
  • Display a willingness to learn more about topics and issues of diversity
  • Be an active participant in discussions regarding multicultural programs, issues and concerns
  • Have strong oral and written communication skills
  • Must be able to attend fall training and bi-weekly meetings
Information Sessions will be held in Room #2052 of the Russell Union on the following dates and times:
  • Wednesday, August 27 at 12 p.m.
  • Thursday, September 4 at 3 p.m.
