Nominate a Co-worker for the Merit Award of Excellence

[caption id="attachment_3845" align="aligncenter" width="600"] The Staff Service and Awards of Excellence Ceremony will take place on Thursday, January 8, 2015.[/caption] Staff Council is gearing up for the annual Staff Service and Awards of Excellence Ceremony in 2015, and your help is needed to nominate eight staff members who will be selected as Merit Award of Excellence recipients during the event. Nominees are employees who have improved the work environment, exhibited excellent customer service and shown true character and dedication to Georgia Southern’s mission. Award of Merit recipients are nominated by co-workers or supervisors and are chosen by Staff Council. Winners each receive $1,000, a Georgia Southern Eagle Medallion or plaque and a certificate of appreciation. Nominations are being accepted through Friday, Nov. 21. Nominees must meet the following criteria:

• Nominee must be in a benefited position
• Nominee must have been employed by the University for at least one continuous year and in good standing
• Nominees must receive one endorsement form and two supporting endorsement forms.

Staff Council will only accept nominations and supporting endorsement forms through the following nomination form. Present Staff Council members or recipients of the Merit Award within the past two years are not eligible to receive an award. Complete the Merit Award of Excellence endorsement form here. The nominator must also secure two supporting endorsement form submissions for the nominee in addition to the nomination. The Awards Ceremony will be held on Thursday, Jan. 8, 2015 at 10 a.m. at the Performing Arts Center (PAC), with lunch immediately following.  If you have any questions regarding the nomination process, email staffcouncil@georgiasouthern.edu.
