International Fraud Awareness Week Begins Sunday, Nov. 16
November 14, 2014

The University System of Georgia is a proud participant of International Fraud Awareness Week, which is Sunday, Nov. 16 - Saturday, Nov. 22. In support of this effort, Georgia Southern University will help bring awareness to fraud and further promote an ethical culture on campus throughout the week, beginning Monday, Nov. 17. Be sure to keep an eye out for a series of special video messages that recognize the hard work of all employees and promote shared values of integrity, excellence, accountability and responsibility.
The top five fraud examples of ethical violations and workplace fraud include:
- Stealing time and time-card tampering
- Paying for personal expenses with state funds
- Unauthorized removal of employer property to include tools, equipment and supplies
- Managing a side business during work hours
- Altering inventory records to account for lost, misplaced or stolen items
Join the conversation on social media next week by using #ReportFraud. This awareness program is part of a comprehensive ethics and compliance program which includes ethics training, mandatory compliance training, assurance audits, consulting engagements and an ethics and compliance reporting hotline.
