Associate Professor of child and family development Trent Maurer, Ph.D., and Associate Professor of human anatomy and physiology Diana Sturges, Ph.D., were named to the list, which recognizes the top professors in Georgia through various accolades.
The Regents’ Teaching Excellence Award, the Regents' Teaching Excellence Award for Online Teaching, the U.S. Professors of the Year awards, sponsored by CASE and the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching, and the Regents' Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Award are some of the awards OnlineColleges.com looks at when selecting top faculty members.
The website looks at winners of these awards from the past five years, along with online student ranking numbers from the professor rating sites RateMyProfessor, RateMyTeachers and Uloop, to determine the “ultimate list” of top professors in Georgia.

Also in September, Maurer’s research was featured in the fall 2014 edition of the National Teaching and Learning Forum. He also was awarded the Regents’ SoTL in 2011.
