Annual Research Symposium set for Friday

Research Symposium 2015 The Georgia Southern University 14th Annual Research Symposium is set for Friday, April 24, in the Nessmith-Lane Conference Center, 847 Plant Drive. Set to begin at 8 a.m., the conference-style showcase will highlight student and faculty research from various academic disciplines and colleges. The event includes speakers and posters and presentation sessions from research projects at Georgia Southern and other colleges and universities throughout the state. Research topics include Engineering and Information Technology, Education and Learning, Humanities and Social Sciences, Exercise Science and Human Performance, Public Health and Wellness, among others. Two students from the Jack N. Averitt College of Graduate Studies will receive the Averitt Award during the Symposium Luncheon at noon. The Averitt Award is the highest honor bestowed upon graduate students within the College of Graduate Studies. Additionally, two faculty members will be presented with the Faculty Award for Excellence. The event is open to the public.
