WOW! Weeks of Welcome Kicks Off 2015

The first few weeks on campus can really set the tone for a successful school year, and Georgia Southern is offering several weeks packed full of activities to set that tone for you!
The Weeks of Welcome (WOW) campaign will take place during the first five weeks of classes to ensure a positive experience for students on campus to identify resources, connect with others and engage with the campus overall. There are more than 70 events taking place all over campus during WOW. Students will not only have the opportunity to participate in these experiences, but they will also have the chance to win one of five prize packages! Students are entered to win the prize packages each time their Eagle Card is scanned at WOW events.
Get involved right away with some of our favorite WOW activities:
- Day Six (Mon., Aug. 24): Discover what it means to be an Eagle! Learn our favorite school chants, traditions and cheers.
- Club Sports Fair (Mon., Aug. 24): Meet the teams, pick from over 30 club sports and decide where you’d like to get involved right off the bat!
- Boro Browse (Tues., Aug. 25): Find out what Statesboro has to offer. Meet vendors and local businesses, learn about job opportunities and explore Statesboro as a community.
- Taste the Farmers Market (Tues., Aug. 25): Sample some fresh new recipes at the first Campus Farmers Market of the year!
- Student Organization Fair (Wed., Aug. 26): Learn about the 200+ student organizations offered through campus, and decide where you want to get involved!
- Carnival ExtRHAvaganza (Thurs., Aug. 27): Test your skills at your favorite classic carnival games, enjoy free food and win great prizes with Residence Hall Association.
- Bike-In Movie (Fri., Sept. 11): Pedal over to Sweetheart Circle to see “Furious 7” on the big screen for a nature-friendly movie night!
- UPB Movie (Fri., Sept. 18): If you can’t get enough of free movies and fun, head over to Sweetheart Circle for a sunset showing of “Jurassic World!”
