Georgia Southern’s Performing Arts Center kicks off new season with John Michael Montgomery
September 2, 2016
John Michael Montgomery will take the stage at Georgia Southern’s Performing Arts Center on Thursday, Sept. 8, at 7:30 p.m. The country superstar helped set the standard for a generation and still resonates with audiences across the country. Montgomery’s seven number-one hits include “I Swear,” “I Can Love You Like That,” “I Love the Way You Love Me,” and “The Little Girl.”
Even with a storied career and room full of awards and accolades, Montgomery has an uncanny ability to relate to his fans. Few artists in any genre sing with more heart than the Kentucky-born musician. In addition to his earnest love songs, upbeat hits like “Be My Baby Tonight” and “Sold (The Grundy County Auction Incident)” make for a fun evening.
Montgomery has been named by Billboard among the “Greatest of All Time” for country artists and his hit song “I Swear” was included in their list of the “Greatest of All Time” country songs.
