Facilities Operations Team Wins Gold

Georgia Southern’s Facilities Operations team (a unit in the Division of Facilities Services) was recently recognized as the gold winner of the 2016 Chancellor’s Service Excellence Team of the Year Award at Georgia College in Milledgeville, Georgia, on Oct. 25.
The award, presented by University System of Georgia Chancellor Hank Huckaby, recognizes teams who have demonstrated outstanding, “above and beyond,” service to the students, colleagues and other customers of the USG over the last year.
To win the award, Associate Vice President of Facilities Services Marvin Mills, Jr., notes that Facilities Operations' leadership and staff demonstrated the following five attributes of service excellence: respectful, accessible, informed, supportive and responsive.
“I am very proud of each and every member of the Facilities Operations team,” Mills said.
The Facilities Operations team was among 350 nominations recognizing eight categories from USG colleges and universities across the state. This marks Georgia Southern’s seventh statewide customer service recognition award.
The annual Chancellor’s Service Excellence Awards program was created to honor USG individuals, teams, leaders, ambassadors, process improvement projects and institutions that have demonstrated outstanding service to the students, colleagues and other customers of the USG.
