7 Eagles to compete in Miss Georgia Pageant

Seven Georgia Southern University students, including Miss Georgia Southern University Victoria Murry, will compete in the 2017 Miss Georgia Pageant set for June 13-16 in Columbus, Georgia, with hopes of advancing to the Miss America pageant in September.
The campus community can offer their support by casting a vote for the People's Choice by clicking here. The Miss Georgia contestant with the most votes will automatically advance into top 15. Each vote is $1, and there is no minimum or maximum number of votes any one person can submit. Proceeds from the 2017 People’s Choice Awards will benefit the Miss Georgia Scholarship fund. Online voting ends June 15 at 9 p.m., EST.
Nearly 70 years ago, the Miss Georgia Southern University Scholarship Pageant became a preliminary to the Miss Georgia and Miss America pageants. The Miss Georgia Southern University Scholarship Pageant is also the longest standing preliminary pageant to Miss Georgia in the entire state.
The Miss America Organization is the world’s largest scholarship for women, and one of the nation’s leading achievement programs, awarding thousands of dollars in scholarship assistance.
