Georgia Southern University recognizes honors students on Statesboro Campus

Georgia Southern University’s Statesboro Campus recognized outstanding students for academic excellence during the annual Honors Day Convocation on April 4.  The Honors Day Convocation salutes the extraordinary accomplishments of undergraduates, graduating seniors, new inductees of academic honor societies, and recipients of special awards from departments and colleges. Ashley Nicole Archer, a senior political science major, delivered the Honors Day address. The highest honor award presented at the convocation is the University System of Georgia Academic Recognition Award and was presented by Georgia Southern University President Jaimie Hebert, Ph.D., to Kristi St. Clair, a senior chemistry major, in recognition of her outstanding scholastic achievement. The Wells/Warren Professor of the Year Award, for which the recipient is selected by University students, was presented to Tanesha Osborne, Ph.D., senior lecturer of organic chemistry. Madison Stewart, a senior majoring in both international studies and modern languages (Arabic), received the Georgia Southern University Alumni Association Award. The Alumni Association Award is given to a student who has completed all work in residence, has the greatest number of hours earned and has achieved the highest cumulative grade point average. The Armstrong Campus will hold the annual Student Awards Convocation on April 19 at 6:30 p.m. in the Student Union Ballroom.
