Best team from 3 Day Startup to compete at new Georgia InVenture Prize competition
February 6, 2019
The team with the best business pitch from Georgia Southern University’s 3 Day Startup (3DS) event will have the opportunity to participate in the inaugural Georgia InVenture Prize competition on April 3 and 4 in Atlanta.
The Georgia InVenture Prize competition is hosted by the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, and it will be an annual event that highlights Georgia’s innovation ecosystem and its high-potential, ambitious and growth-oriented student entrepreneurs. It is modeled after Georgia Tech’s InVenture Prize Competition, which is the nation’s largest undergraduate invention competition.
3DS is an entrepreneurial weekend workshop where students from all levels and majors around the University will share ideas and work on turning their ideas into actual businesses. 3DS is set for Feb. 22 through 25 on the Statesboro Campus. Registration is open for 3DS through Friday, Feb. 8 at http://georgiasouthern.3daystartup.org/.
In order to participate in the Georgia InVenture Prize competition, teams are chosen by their respective university to compete. The competition is open to all colleges and universities in Georgia.
During the Georgia InVenture competition, teams will present their unique business solution to judges in a statewide competition, ending in the finalists’ presentation to judges and audience members during a live televised event at Georgia Public Broadcasting Studios.
After the event, varying awards will be given to students, including a grand prize of $25,000 for an individual or team to further the development of their invention. Other prizes include cash, grants, scholarships or in-kind services such as legal assistance for U.S. patent filings, professional accounting services or acceptance into business accelerator programs. The winning team will also receive the coveted InVenture Cup to proudly display on their campus for the year.
