PeopleSoft Financial system scheduled to update Oct. 16-20

University System of Georgia IT Services, which maintains the PeopleSoft Financial System, has scheduled an update for the PeopleSoft system beginning Oct. 16 until Oct. 20. The system is used to maintain Georgia Southern University’s financial processes, including purchasing, accounts payable, budgets and general accounting.

Due to this update, PeopleSoft will be unavailable beginning at 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 16, 2020, until the morning of Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2020. You may resume using PeopleSoft Financials beginning at 8 a.m. on Oct. 20. Prior to logging back in on Tuesday, October 20, please clear your cache. Also, be aware that your home screen may look slightly different as a result of this update.

The upgrade will contain a few updates and minor enhancements and functionality, including:

  • All ePro processes including Georgia First MarketPlace Orders and Special Requests will be unavailable during system outage. All requisitions must be in an open or approved status by 12 p.m. on Friday, October 16.
  • The Travel and Expense system will be unavailable during the system outage. All transactions should be in an approved status by 12 p.m. on Friday, October 16.
  • Electronic payment requests will be unavailable during the system outage. All transactions should be in an approved status by 12 p.m. on Friday, October 16.
  • Accounts Payable will be unable to issue any payments during the system outage on Monday, October 19.
  • Budget Transfers cannot be processed during the system outage on Monday, October 19.
  • Expenditure/Revenue Transfer requests cannot be processed on Monday, October 19.
  • Business Object Reports will be available during the system update downtime; however, the reports will not be refreshed with financial transactions from October 16 through October 20.

Thank you for your attention to these dates.  We are dedicated to making this process as easy on campus departments as possible given the system restraints required for this system upgrade.
