Georgia Southern named Host Institution Sponsor for Global Conference on Sustainability in Higher Education

Sustainability Programs within the Georgia Southern University Office of Leadership and Community Engagement has been announced as a Host Institution Sponsor for the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education’s (AASHE) Global Conference on Sustainability in Higher Education, which takes place from Oct. 20-22.
Many of the sessions can be attended on-demand from October 20 through November 22, while others will be shown live during the conference space. Each session is no longer than 40 minutes. To take advantage of the most workshops possible, please register by Monday, October 19
“Our host institutions champion sustainability advancements in higher education,” said AASHE Executive Director Meghan Fay Zahniser. “We are grateful to work with these select colleges and universities that directly contribute to the success of the conference and the sustainability movement as a whole.”
There will also be a viewing party and Q&A following keynote speaker Ibram X. Kendi, Ph.D., on Oct. 21 from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. The conversation will feature Cami Sockow, sustainability coordinator, and Maya Clark, Ph.D., OIE Fellow and professor of Communication Sciences and Disorders. The conversation after Kendi’s talk will focus on the intersection of climate change and racial justice and will be recorded for future viewings. Follow this link to register.
