Supporting For the Love of Blue provides students with more than financial support

From the moment Albani Berryhill first visited Georgia Southern University, she felt at home.
“I immediately fell in love with the beautiful scenery and friendly atmosphere,” she said. “I felt like I could make a home here, and I have.”
Berryhill is a communication studies major with a minor in Spanish. Through her studies, she’s been able to make friends and experience personal growth.
“I have learned the importance of speaking up for yourself and standing up for what you believe, no matter the odds,” she said. “My professors and mentors have taught me about life, which is more meaningful than anything in a textbook. I have been pushed beyond my comfort zone, mentally and academically. I have become a more well-rounded, understanding individual. I have accomplished so much while learning a great deal about myself. I have grown immeasurably.”
As a scholarship recipient, she feels supported more than just financially.
“The scholarships that I have received are more than a financial blessing,” she said. “They are an investment in my dreams. No amount of words can express my gratitude for this blessing. My experiences here have made me a better person. No matter how far I go in life, Georgia Southern will always have a place in my heart. That is what I love about this university.”
