Planning underway for The Eagle Experience summer, fall Initiatives

The Eagle Experience Steering Committee is already working to plan summer and fall 2022 Eagle Experience programming to welcome new students to Georgia Southern University!
As we move into the second year of this holistic approach to the orientation and transition of our new students, we are making adjustments based on successes and challenges from the first year. Your feedback has also played a large part in the organization of our initiatives.
The Eagle Experience will kick-off this summer with SOAR for new summer and fall students. But we are focusing much attention on the Sunday, Monday, Tuesday between residence hall move-in and the first day of classes to provide structure in meeting student learning outcomes and transition needs. These three days will be themed with programming organized around specific content and outcomes. Many details still have to be worked out, but here is a high-level overview.

Other themed days, along with summer programming, move-in weekend activities and ongoing fall semester events will continue to be designed over the spring semester to ensure a strong welcome to our newest students starting in the summer and fall. There are so many ways to welcome, orient and aid in the transition of our new students to set them up for success, and we want YOU to be involved! Look for ongoing communication to university partners over the next few months on how your department or unit can support and facilitate new student transition at Georgia Southern University.
