St. Joseph’s/Candler mammography bus coming to Statesboro Campus Nov. 30
St. Joseph’s/Candler’s mobile mammography unit, the “Screen Machine,” will be on the Statesboro Campus Nov. 30 to provide digital breast cancer screenings.
The Screen Machine will set up for the day in front of Nessmith-Lane Center from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Appointments are required, so call 912-819-6140 to schedule your 2D or 3D mammogram.
Eligibility requirements:
- The American College of Radiology recommends an annual screening mammogram beginning at age 40.
- Women 35-39 years old should check with their insurance provider prior to the screening, for plan eligibility and coverage.
- A physician referral is not required. However, patients must have an active physician (seen in the last 18 months) for reporting purposes.
- One year since previous mammogram.
- Cannot be pregnant or breast-feeding.
- No new breast lumps/concerns. Patients should promptly contact their physician for evaluation if experiencing breast problems.
