Geography students and faculty attend, present during regional conference over Thanksgiving break

Geography students attend the Southeastern Division of the American Association of Geographers annual meeting.

Over Thanksgiving break, geography faculty Amy Potter, Ph.D., Helen Rosko, Ph.D., and Rob Yarbrough, Ph.D., and 14 students traveled to Atlanta to attend the Southeastern Division of the American Association of Geographers (SEDAAG) annual meeting at the Georgia Tech Conference Center. 

Several students competed in the World Geography Bowl Competition. Undergraduate geography major Alexander Perry placed second in the event and will compete on the SEDAAG team at the American Association of Geographers conference in Denver, Colorado, in March. 

Applied geography master’s students Austin Abarr, Harrison Currin, Kelsie Floyd and Taylor Foreman, and undergraduate geography majors Kashayla Garcia and Rebecca Neely also presented research in poster sessions. Additionally, undergraduate geography major Joyah Mitchell co-presented a research paper with faculty mentor, Potter.
