Georgia Southern University’s Faculty Center celebrated more than 70 faculty members during a professional development day for effective and inspired teaching after a year-long training course.

The Effective Teaching Practices course, which was made possible through a grant partnership with the Association of College and University Educators, and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, focused on effective teaching methods. Of those faculty who participated in the course, more than 60 met all the course requirements and earned a nationally accredited and recognized certificate.

The Faculty Center provides and supports teaching and learning through face-to-face, online or blended classroom environments. The Faculty Center supports faculty with the research-based pedagogical, technological and other resources for designing, implementing, assessing, and researching effective and innovative instructional strategies along with the use of learning technologies that foster academic excellence.
