University Libraries launches Georgia Southern Scholars
On July 1, University Libraries launched an all-new scholarly profile platform, Georgia Southern (GS) Scholars, for Georgia Southern University faculty. This system will replace SelectedWorks profiles by year end.
GS Scholars is a public, searchable database that highlights the scholarly and creative activities of Georgia Southern faculty. GS Scholars advances collaboration, discovery and innovation by connecting researchers across departments and colleges with government and industry partners and with researchers at other institutions.
All tenure-track faculty at Georgia Southern have a scholarly profile in GS Scholars. All research-active, non-tenure track faculty may request a profile. In addition, GS Scholars includes profiles for select emeriti, retired and deceased faculty. For more information about SelectedWorks and the transition to GS Scholars, see the GS Scholars guide (http://georgiasouthern.libguides.com/scholars).
As previously announced, Elsevier is sunsetting the SelectedWorks platform on Dec. 31 after which Georgia Southern’s SelectedWorks platform, profiles and content will no longer be accessible. In response, the GS Libraries have migrated all SelectedWorks profiles to GS Scholars. To facilitate our SelectedWorks profile holders' transition to GS Scholars, the Libraries have hidden many SelectedWorks records so that profile holders can decide whether they want to keep these records in GS Scholars and revise them before displaying them in their profiles.
