Physical therapy student Ka’Leah Davis receives scholarship from Rizing Tide Scholarship Program

Ka’Leah Davis, a student studying physical therapy in the Waters College of Health Professions, is one of 20 students awarded a scholarship by Rizing Tide, a scholarship program dedicated to expanding access to physical therapy care by creating a more inclusive workforce.
“As a graduate student with the Physical Therapy program, it is very difficult to work and commit to my studies,” Davis said. “Though I have managed two part-time positions while remaining on top of my grades, this scholarship will relieve some of my financial burdens giving me the opportunity to focus even more on my studies.”
Davis was one of 400 applicants and will receive $5,000 from the Crest Rizing Stars Scholarship to support her educational journey. The scholarship can be renewed annually until she graduates.
Rizing Tide offers financial support and educational enrichment to racially, ethnically and experientially diverse students pursuing their doctorate degree in physical therapy through the Crest Scholarship program.
After graduation, Davis, who is commissioned as an Army officer, plans to serve as a physical therapist in the Army.
