Georgia Southern University launches new voluntary training series on protected classes

Georgia Southern is proud to introduce Soaring Standards: Embracing and Upholding Protected Classes, a voluntary training series facilitated by the Office of Legal Affairs. This series explores specific groups protected by law and policy, helping participants understand how these protections apply in both workplace and educational settings.

The first session is "Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity or Expression," and will be held on Oct. 28. Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to participate to expand their knowledge and foster a more inclusive environment.

Dates, times, and registration are available through the Building a Better U (faculty/staff) platform or the Eagle Engage (students) platform. For questions, please contact the Office of Organizational Effectiveness, Leadership Development, and Inclusive Excellence at oeldie@georgiasouthern.edu.
