How your FTLOB gift contributes to fulfilling students’ dreams

Fiona Schirmer

For years, Fiona Schirmer has dreamed of teaching musical theater at the collegiate level. But as a non-traditional student, she juggled full-time work, her course load and being involved in theater productions on the Armstrong Campus, life and finances could get stressful at times.

“Not having an undergraduate degree, this dream was on the back burner for a while,” Schirmer said. “The scholarship that I have lightens some of the financial burdens that have accumulated since beginning classes. I cannot express my gratitude enough for the help and opportunity.”

Gifts from generous donations by faculty and staff each year through the For the Love of Blue campus giving campaign helps students like Schirmer, who is majoring in theater, become one step closer to achieving her dream.
