Division of Student Affairs, Office of Inclusive Excellence announce realignment of reporting units

Dear University Community,

We are writing to announce an important realignment of reporting units within the Division of Student Affairs and the Office of Inclusive Excellence. The following changes will take effect July 1, 2021.

The Office of Multicultural Affairs, TRIO Student Support Services-Armstrong, and Student Support Services-Statesboro, currently housed within the Division of Student Affairs, will report to the Office of Inclusive Excellence. This transition was a joint decision that supports Goal 1-B of the Inclusive Excellence Action Plan: Create a transparent and sustainable organizational structure that fosters a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment for all.

Bringing these units into the Inclusive Excellence organizational structure is a natural realignment for Georgia Southern University as it allows us to maximize our resources to meet the needs of diverse students.

All these services are critical to the success of our campus community, and we are confident that these changes will only have positive effects on students and staff.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank the many members of these teams for their hard work – work that touches so many aspects of the Georgia Southern experience. We’d also like to acknowledge Takeshia Brown, Corine Ackerson-Jones, and Leslie Harris for their continued leadership.

Yours Respectfully,

Dr. Shay Little, Vice President, Student Affairs

Dr. TaJuan R. Wilson, Associate Vice President for Inclusive Excellence and Chief Diversity Officer
