Graduate student Sarah Creveling awarded travel scholarship to attend national conference

Georgia Southern University exercise science graduate student Sarah Creveling has been awarded a 2021 American Academy for Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Medicine (AACPDM) Student Travel Scholarship.
Creveling will use the scholarship toward reimbursement of travel, lodging and meal expenses up to $1,000 for the AACPDM 75th annual meeting to be held Oct. 6-9. The scholarship will also provide Creveling with complimentary registration to the annual meeting.
“Being awarded this scholarship will reduce the cost of the conference as well as my travel expenses,” stated Creveling. “I am looking forward to having the opportunity to network with and learn from experts in my field of interest.”
Additionally, Creveling will participate in the poster presentation portion of the annual meeting with two posters titled “Environmental Factors and their Relationship to Physical Activity and Sport among Children with Cerebral Palsy” and “Using Photovoice to Examine School-based Physical Therapists’ Perspectives of Functioning.”
After graduation, Creveling plans to pursue a doctorate degree in public health and continue working with individuals with disabilities.
To be considered for a scholarship, recipients had to be a full-time student or trainee, an AACPDM member or applicant, and be an author on an abstract submitted to the annual meeting.
