LaShai Campbell named to 2024-25 NACUBO Emerging Leaders Program

LaShai Campbell, business manager in the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs, has been selected to the 2024–25 cohort of the Emerging Leaders Program through the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO).
“I am very excited and honored to be selected for this competitive cohort of the National Association of College and University Business Officers Emerging Leaders Program,” Campbell said. “I have had the opportunity to serve Georgia Southern in a business administration role for more than 10 years, and I look forward to continuing to do so with the experience of this program to an even higher ability and capacity.”
The professional development program equips mid-level managers in higher education business and finance with skills to enhance their leadership abilities, foster collaborative cross-campus relationships and build their professional networks. Designed for business officers who want to advance in higher education business and finance, the program curriculum also focuses on financial stewardship, strategic planning and student success.
“Through this program, I hope to gain invaluable insights from experienced leaders in the higher education and corporate sectors, as well as engage in collaborative learning experiences with my peers from diverse institutional backgrounds,” Campbell said. “I am eager to explore innovative approaches to organizational leadership practices, clear and convincing communication, and making an impact as a business officer.”
The 2024–25 cohort is the largest group accepted to the program since it began in 2021. This year’s group represents 64 higher education institutions from 31 states.
“The Emerging Leaders Program is a very selective professional development opportunity, and the fact that we are welcoming our largest cohort yet is a testament to our impressive applicants,” said Kara D. Freeman, NACUBO president and CEO. “NACUBO is proud to offer such a comprehensive and in-demand program to prepare the next generation of higher education business and finance leaders.”
The Emerging Leaders Program reflects NACUBO’s organizational priority to strengthen and diversify the chief business officer pipeline. The group will meet online and in person through April 2025.
