Heather Shelly appointed Associate Vice President for Financial Aid and Enrollment Services

Heather Shelly has been appointed as associate vice president for Financial Aid and Enrollment Services, effective April 1. Shelly has been an integral member of the Georgia Southern University Financial Aid team since 2016 and brings 23 years of experience in financial aid administration. Her unparalleled expertise makes her the most qualified candidate for this appointment. She has extensive experience, demonstrated leadership and has made significant contributions to the University.
From June 2023 to July 15, 2024, Shelly served as the interim leader for financial aid. During this period, she provided exceptional guidance to the University through a rigorous federal audit, achieving an outcome of zero findings. Notably, she also successfully led the financial aid office at Savannah State University during this time.
Over the past year, Shelly has assisted with the restructuring of the financial aid team and to integrate enrollment services operations. Her deep institutional knowledge and strategic oversight have been instrumental in strengthening financial aid operations.
