University ROTC Battalion Earns Top Honors

Southern University’s ROTC Battalion has been named one of the best in
the country. The Eagle Battalion has been chosen as one of only eight
ROTC battalions in the country to receive the prestigious MacArthur
award. The MacArthur award is the U.S. Army’s top honor for ROTC
battalions that exemplify the leadership qualities personified by
General Douglas A. MacArthur.Cadet Battalion Commander Matthew Penn of Peachtree City, Ga. has also been honored for his ROTC achievements. CDT Penn has received the George C. Marshall award, which is given to outstanding ROTC members. CTD Penn will travel to Lexington, Virginia for a four day Army leadership seminar as part of this award.
