CRI Marketing Department Wins Creative Excellence Awards

Campus Recreation and Intramurals (CRI) Marketing Department recently won two Creative Excellence Awards for outstanding integrated marketing campaigns.

CRI Marketing won 1st Place for their marketing efforts for the Iron Eagle Challenge in October and 3rd place for their Southern Sprint for Wellness 5K campaign in November beating out 28 other entires. The Integrated Marketing Category is characterized by a complete marketing campaign comprised of mixed media such as t-shirts, posters, fliers, and a website.

The Marketing Department, which is staffed by graduate and undergraduate graphic designers, web designers, and public relations personnel, all lent their talent to the marketing campaigns.
According to Chris Butler, Coordinator for Marketing and Special Events at CRI, “These awards are a true testament to our brilliant student staff. We have a wonderful group of creatives who are committed to the success of CRI and its programs.”

The Creative Excellence Awards are presented by the National Intramural-Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA). According to NIRSA, “The Creative Excellence Awards are designed to recognize the innovation and creativity of NIRSA members and acknowledge their outstanding accomplishments in marketing recreational sports, fitness, facilities, and programs.” The Creative Excellence Awards were presented at the NIRSA 2010 Annual Conference and Recreational Sports Exposition in Anaheim, California.
