Sustainability Field Trip: Recycling on a US Military Base

If you’re interested in learning more about the process of recycling on a US Military Base, the Center for Sustainability can help!

A field trip to Fort Stewart is planned for Friday, March 1 from 1 – 5:30 p.m. Participants will learn about waste management for the army base and tour the extensive recycling station with the program manager.  

Official identification (driver’s license or other photo id) are required for entry to the military base.

Those interested should plan to meet at the turnaround in front of Hanner Fieldhouse and the Hollis Building at 1 p.m. to vanpool to the site.

Students, faculty, staff and the public are invited. There is no fee for this field trip.

Email Lissa Leege, director of the Center for Sustainability, leege@georgiasouthern.edu by noon Wednesday, Feb. 27 if you would like to participate. Seating is limited and will be available on a first come first served basis.
