Georgia Southern University’s Multicultural Student Center
will host the annual Women’s Empowerment Conference: The Journey – A Woman’s Path to Progress on Saturday, March 9 at
Russell Union. Designed to bring women of all ages, ethnicities and backgrounds
together, topics ranging from relationships, feminism, self-care, love,
emotional intelligence, financial awareness, professionalism and balancing
career and family will be discussed.
The Women’s Empowerment Conference will be a full day of uplifting and
intellectual sessions including a lunch keynote address by Rashan Ali, a radio
personality from Atlanta and founder of the non-profit organization, Sporty
Girls, Inc. Sporty Girls encourages the development of life skills in girls
ages 8-18 through participation in non-traditional sports like golf, tennis,
soccer and swimming.
Registration is required and open to students, faculty, staff and community members. Student registration is $15 (with a student ID) and $20 for non-students. The pre-registration deadline is Friday, March 1. On-site registration is available and will be $20 for students and $25 for non-students. Registration includes continental breakfast, lunch and access to all sessions.
