Join the Multicultural Student Center for an evening celebrating the glamour, magic and endurance of Black Broadway. From the early black stars like Bert Williams and Ma Rainey to today's headliners, Samuel L. Jackson and Angela Bassett, the show is a composite of memorable scenes, both musical and dramatic. A special tribute to the ground-breaking legacy of playwright August Wilson includes dramatic highlights from five of his plays. This theatrical revue, co-directed and featuring student performers, will feature dance, musical and dramatic vignettes from past and present well-known African-American Broadway shows such as A Raisin in the Sun, The Wiz, For Colored Girls, The Color Purple, and much more. Directed by Mical Whitaker, admission is free.
