Eagles Night Out This Saturday
To culminate Operation Move-In and help kick off Weeks of Welcome, Eagles Night Out will be held Saturday, Aug. 17 from 6 – 9 p.m. at the Recreation Activity Center Bandshell. A tradition for more than 10 years, Eagles Night Out is held every year the night after Operation Move-in to give students a chance to dive into Georgia Southern University head first.
“It’s an opportunity unlike any other for students to meet people from all over the United States, build friendships and make connections before classes begin. Anyone is welcome,” says Chris Butler, assistant director of Marketing and Communications for Campus Recreation & Intramurals.
Participants will enjoy free food and activities like target toss, home-run derby and Georgia Southern Athletics sports. The first 600 students will receive a free T-shirt. In addition, an Eagle Express shuttle bus will begin running at 5:30 p.m. providing transportation to and from the event. Immediately following the games, R&B and funk band, Nickel Bag of Funk will perform a concert at 7:30 p.m. For more information, visit the CRI website.
