Shop the Garden of the Coastal Plain’s Annual Poinsettia Sale
A Poinsettia Sale is happening now at The Garden of the
Coastal Plain just in time for holiday gift giving and decorating.
Available in red, white, marble, jingle bell (red with white
speckles) and ice punch, the plants are $15 each and proceeds benefit the Garden's
horticulture and educational efforts.
“We raise much of our annual operating support and all funds for anything new,
such as gardens, buildings like the Heritage Pavilion and educational programs,”
said Carolyn Altman, director of the Garden of the Coastal Plain.
A tradition for nearly ten years, the Poinsettia Sale will take place through Thursday, Nov. 21. Customers may pre-order poinsettias online or by calling 912-871-1149. Major credit cards are acceptable forms of payment.
“We offer the sale so folks can have beautiful, unusual florist-quality plants for holiday gift giving and decorating. I personally like the poinsettia sale because it makes my holiday gift giving and decorating stress free,” Altman says. “I pre-order, it's easy to pick them up from the cottage and then I arrange them artfully in my house and voila! It's Christmas in a classy kind of way. It's nice to take the unusual ones to holiday gatherings as gifts. They always start up a conversation, since people are so used to only red.”
Plants will be available for pick-up between 10 a.m. and 5:45 p.m. from Bland Cottage, located at 1505 Bland Ave., on Thursday. Dec. 5 or Friday, Dec. 6.
