Office of Career Services Hosts Multiple Career-Oriented Events This Month

The Office of Career Services has an exciting February planned to allow students and alumni the opportunity to meet employers and learn about graduate schools. 

“This is the one opportunity when the employers are coming to campus to see Georgia Southern students. During these events, students don’t have to worry about competing with other schools–they’re only competing with themselves,” says Heather Scarboro, coordinator of career programs and events with the Office of Career Services. The following events will take place this month:

Internship & Co-Op Information Night

Starting with the 5 p.m. panel of STEM employers, students can learn about the internship/co-op experience and its benefits.  Following the panels, there will be employer lead breakout information sessions.  Log into Eagle Career Net to find specific times and organizations.

Tuesday, Feb. 11  |  5 - 9 p.m.  | IT Building

STEM Career Fair
This event will feature approximately 30 employers from the science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) industries.

Wednesday, Feb. 12  |  11 a.m. to 2 p.m. | Nessmith-Lane Conference Center Ballroom

 
Eagle Expo Career Fair
This career fair will feature employers from government, retail, logistics, sales, manufacturing and other industries. 

Wednesday, Feb. 26 | Noon - 2 p.m.  | Recreation Activities Center (RAC)

Professional business attire is required for admission. Students are encouraged to bring several copies of their resumes and to be prepared to step out and talk with employers during the events.

“Many of the employers take resumes on the spot, and schedule interviews in the following days,” said Scarboro.

Career Services is also hosting multiple interview opportunities with companies throughout the month.  Students are encouraged to visit their Eagle Career Net accounts to check eligibility and to submit resumes.
