Get Healthy During Wellness Week Feb. 17 - 21

The University Wellness Program has several exciting student, faculty and staff events happening in celebration of Wellness Week, which begins Sunday, Feb. 16 – Friday, Feb. 21. Employees will receive free entry to the Recreation Activity Center and may participate in many healthy programs and free events including Survive & Thrive, Meditation, Know Your Numbers, the LiveWell Fair, the Empty Bowl Project and more!

“I encourage everyone to participate in as many events as possible during Wellness Week to enhance their personal well-being, which factors into so many other facets of life,” said Michele Martin, University Wellness program director. “If you can affect one aspect of your well-being, that typically results in a domino effect on them all, and a better quality of life.”

The Meditation and Survive & Thrive programs are offered throughout the spring semester. Led by Campus Recreation and Intramural trained employees, the duration of each class is no longer than 45 minutes.

Meditation
Mondays | 7 p.m. | RAC Mind/Body Studio (Must be a RAC member to attend), or
Fridays | Noon | Zach S. Henderson Library, Room 1300 (No RAC membership required).

Meditation is available to students, faculty and staff.

Survive & Thrive
Thursday, Feb. 20 | 12:30 p.m. |RAC Seminar Room

Survive & Thrive is a weight management program that will focus on healthy eating while teaching participants how to understand their bodies better. Available only to faculty and staff, the first meeting will be held at the date and time above, and will meet once a week until mid-April. Employees are encouraged to bring a co-worker to the first meeting.
