Attention Freshmen and Seniors: Your Feedback is Needed for the National Survey of Student Engagement

The Office of Strategic Research and Analysis is compiling information to improve students’ educational experience at Georgia Southern University through the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE). On February 18, randomly selected samples of freshmen and senior students were emailed invitations to participate, which include a customized link to access the survey. Eligible participants are encouraged to complete the survey as soon as possible, and to keep an eye out for email reminders with the subject line: “Georgia Southern Wants Your Feedback.” The next reminder will be sent on Monday, March 24.

Several incentives are available for participating including one of the following:

  • Two year-long on-campus parking passes (worth $150)
  • Two $50 gift certificates to the University Bookstore
  • One iPad (worth $520)

“NSSE helps us understand how students are spending time in and out of the classroom, which guides decisions that will benefit Georgia Southern students,” said Mike Jordan, Ph.D., associate director of Assessment.

Results from past National Survey of Student Engagement administrations have provided valuable insights into undergraduates’ perceptions of their academic and other experiences at the University. Confidential responses will be an important source of information to the University as it identifies aspects of the undergraduate experience that can be improved through changes in policies and best practices in undergraduate education.

To be eligible for the drawings, completed surveys must be submitted by June 1.
