City Campus and College of Business Partner to Host Entrepreneur Lecture Series Featuring Hannah Davis

Georgia Southern University's City Campus and the College of Business are teaming up to host an Entrepreneur Lecture Series, and the first speaker is Hannah Davis, who will discuss her inspiring journey to owning “BANGS,” a shoe company and brand focused on humanitarian efforts and contributing to global sustainable change.
The event will be held on Wednesday, April 9 in the College of Information Technology, Room 1005, at 5:30 p.m.
The brand, “BANGS,” originates from the Chinese character that translates “to help.” The company’s philosophy is to invest in long-term sustainable change and to change the way consumers think about social development. “BANGS” partners with six different non-profit organizations that have made it their mission to contribute to sustainable change. Each colored pair of shoes represents support for the mission of a certain partner and non-profits, with 20 percent of net profits donated. The partners and non-profits help to build wells and sanitation systems in Africa, keep financially disadvantaged students reading all summer and help to alleviate poverty.
Davis’s goal is to “stand on issues” as she grows her
company and brand globally. Guests will have the opportunity to ask questions
and learn about how she became a successful entrepreneur.
“The Georgia Southern City Campus is proud to host Davis as an entrepreneur
guest speaker for the campus and Statesboro community,” said Suzanne Hallman,
City Campus business advisor. “This event is another example of how City Campus
works to equip entrepreneurs, in an effort to create more jobs for a more
sustainable economy.”
All students are encouraged to come learn from Davis’s real life entrepreneurial lessons and successes.
