Wine, Moonlight & Magnolias to Benefit Garden of the Coastal Plain
April 29, 2014

“Wine, Moonlight & Magnolias,” a benefit for the Garden of the Coastal Plain at Georgia Southern University featuring fine wine and beer, live jazz music and heavy hors d’oeuvres, will be held this Thursday, May 1 from 7 – 9:30 p.m.
"The Garden's premier event is getting better and better, attracting the best leaders in the wine and beer industries to share hundreds of their new creations with guests," said Carolyn Altman, director of the Garden of the Coastal Plain. "It's a great chance to sample favorite varieties and also to try something new. Gather your friends, put on your party clothes and come enjoy a great evening in the Garden."
An auction for the following items will also take place during the event:
- A cocktail party for 20 of your friends with Georgia Southern Head Football Coach Willie Fritz and his wife Susan
- An oil portrait of you or a loved one by noted artist Millie Fortner
- Three nights in the Vince Dooley Suite in Athens, Georgia
- An in-home wine tasting sponsored by The Grapevine at H's
- A hand-crafted River Racer boat built from historic wood by Jeff Robbins of Vintage Wood and Steel in Atlanta
"Wine, Moonlight & Magnolias is a great time to try things you might be curious about, but might not purchase by the bottle," says Garden board president Lisa Laun. "This way, you can learn what you enjoy. Besides, it's a great night out."
Heavy Hors D’oeuvres will be provided by
Bevricks Char House Grill and music by
Michael Hulett. Tickets are $50 and may be purchased by visiting
