School of Health and Kinesiology Professor named National Academy of Kinesiology Fellow

[caption id="attachment_3763" align="alignleft" width="200"]Li Li, Ph.D. Li Li, Ph.D.[/caption] Li Li, Ph.D., College of Health and Human Sciences research professor in the School of Health and Kinesiology, has been inducted as a Fellow in the National Academy of Kinesiology (NAK), an honorary organization composed of Fellows who have made significant and sustained contributions to the field of kinesiology through scholarship and professional service. Twelve U.S. and three international scholars were inducted during a special banquet and ceremony held at the Academy’s 84th annual conference in Austin, Texas. The dual purposes of the NAK is to encourage and promote the study and educational applications of the art and science of human movement and physical activity and to honor by election to Fellow those individuals who have contributed significantly to this purpose. Fellows in the NAK reflect a “who’s who” of eminent scholars in the field. Li earned his Bachelor of Science degree in physics from Peking University, Beijing, China. He earned his Master of Science degree in sports biomechanics from the National Research Institute of Sports Science in Beijing, China. He also earned his doctorate in Kinesiology from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, Mass. A member and Fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine, member and Research Fellow of the Society of Health and Physical Educators and member of the International Society of Biomechanics, Li has been a professor at Georgia Southern University for two years.
