Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town with Help from Georgia Southern
November 21, 2014

“Here comes Santa Claus…Here comes Santa Claus, right down Santa Claus’ Lane!”
Georgia Southern University’s Parking and Transportation and Public Safety departments have teamed up to help shuttle Santa Claus to the Statesboro Mall this weekend for his first appearance of the holiday season. The public is invited to help “Stuff the Bus” with toy donations. All donations will be contributed to Statesboro’s local Toys for Tots campaign. On Saturday, Nov. 22, Santa Claus will leave Paulson Stadium at 10:30 a.m. riding in First Transit, the University’s campus transit provider. A police escort will lead the way to the mall, and Santa will be stationed at 11 a.m. The public is invited to join GUS, the cheerleaders and the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve in the parking area of the mall on Northside Dr. Participants should bring a new, unwrapped toy to donate.
