Georgia Southern hosts award-winning author Amanda Ward Sept. 10

[caption id="attachment_4953" align="alignleft" width="217"] Amanda Ward[/caption] Award-winning author Amanda Ward will read from her newest book The Same Sky on Sept. 10 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. in the College of Business Administration (COBA) building, Room 1124. Inspired by real, personal interviews with sheltered children fighting to cross into the United States to find their loved ones, The Same Sky presents an inspiring story of strength, courage and acceptance. The book was published in January and has already earned several accolades including one of the “Most Anticipated Books of 2015” and “Book of the Week” by People Magazine. The event is free and open to the public. The event is sponsored by the Department of Writing & Linguistics and by the Harbuck Memorial Scholarship. Following Ward's reading on Sept. 10, the 10th Annual Harbuck Award Ceremony will take place Friday, Sept. 11, at 6:30 p.m. in COBA, Room 1124. Nominees, finalists and the winner of the annual Harbuck Memorial Scholarship will read from their entries, which were judged by Ward. A catered reception will follow.
