Ribbon Cutting for Shooting Sports Education Center Oct. 8

Interim President Jean Bartels will host a ribbon cutting ceremony for the Shooting Sports Education Center on Thursday, Oct. 8, at 10:30 a.m.  Refreshments and tours will follow the ceremony.
The Shooting Sports Education Center (SSEC), a state-of-the-art instructional facility dedicated to the shooting sports, is open to students and the public.  The 30,000 square-foot building features a 16-lane, 25-meter firing range, a 16-lane, 25-meter archery center, as well as two spacious training and seminar rooms.  It will serve as a comprehensive center for education, training, competition and recreation.  The SSEC is a partnership between Georgia Southern and the Georgia Department of Natural Resources and the project was funded by private donations to the University.
Parking is very limited, and visitors are encouraged to take the shuttle or walk to the ceremony.  The Gold Route shuttle service (from the bookstore to the RAC) will be available.  Also, within walking distance to the Shooting Sports Education Center, parking will be available at the Bruce and Kathryn Grube Recreation Activity Center.
