Botanic Garden hosts Plant Sale and Movin’ and Groovin’ Festival April 8-10
April 5, 2016
The weather’s gorgeous and your yard can be too! The Botanic Garden at Georgia Southern is hosting its popular plant sale Friday through Sunday, April 8-10, at the Garden, 1505 Bland Avenue. Experts Bill Renz from Wise Nurseries and Scott Thompson from Thompson’s Gardens will join the Botanic Garden team to help you find just the right annuals, perennials, trees and more to make your yard a beautiful blooming and easy-care retreat. Bring photos of your problem areas and let the Garden help you solve them. The sale goes beyond your usual big box offerings as the plants at the sale are specially chosen to thrive in our conditions. Purchases help to support the Garden’s educational offerings.
Hours for the sale are 2 - 7 p.m. on Friday; 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. on Saturday; and 1-5 p.m. on Sunday.
The Botanic Garden also will host a fun Children’s Festival, Movin’ and Groovin’ at the Garden, on Sunday, April 10. Children will have the opportunity to try Zumba, yoga, kickboxing and other fun ways of getting in shape and having fun, provided by the great instructors from the Campus Recreation Activity Center and Yoga on Vine. Georgia Southern’s biology students will provide hands-on fun for kids of all ages. Come see what moves and grooves at the Garden – you may be surprised! All activities are free and open to everyone. No pets please.
