Visit the Statesboro Mainstreet Farmers’ Market Saturday

The Garden of the Coastal Plain at Georgia Southern University  and the University Wellness Program have teamed up with the Statesboro Mainstreet Farmers' Market to bring the best locally grown and produced food to downtown Statesboro. Every Saturday from 9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. in the Sea Island Bank parking area at 2 East Main St., the market features fresh vegetables, baked goods and even meats. This Saturday, June 1, fresh melons will be available including watermelon, cantaloupe and canary melons. Free slices will be provided for sampling. In addition, new crops of corn, tomatoes, okra, peppers, squash, eggplant, onions, carrots, cabbage, butter beans, peas, green beans, peaches, blueberries and blackberries will be available for purchase. Cash, Credit and Debit cards, as well as EBT are acceptable forms of payment. Other Statesboro Mainstreet Farmers Market activities will include:
  • Humane Society
  • Statesboro Blues BBQ
  • Special guest Uncle Sam
  • The Homegrown Band
  • Education exhibits for garden preparation by Lowes of Statesboro
